Thank you to everyone for two great performances on Saturday! It was great to see a lot of green and gold in the stands at both shows!

For those of you who sold products in our Century Resources Fundraiser, the products will be delivered on Thursday, October 29. All items must be picked-up by the end of marching band rehearsal that
day!

Band banquet reservations are due this Friday. The band banquet is scheduled for Monday, November 9 at 6:00 PM followed by the awards in the CPA. Please see Mr. Stevens if you need a new reservation form.

There has been some confusion about who pays for the dry cleaning of uniforms. Individual students are responsible for the cost of dry cleaning their uniforms periodically as needed throughout the marching
season. They may select any professional dry cleaner that is convenient for them. As stated in the Uniform Contract in the Band Handbook:

Professionally dry clean your jacket and pants as needed throughout the season and before final Turn-In in the spring. Several area dry cleaners offer a reduced rate for band uniforms. Do not use home dry cleaning products (i.e. Dry-el). Do not dry clean collar liners, rain coats or garment bags.

At the end of the year after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade before Uniform Turn-In (usually in April), students may take their uniform to Dublin Cleaners and that final cleaning of the year will be paid for by Dublin Music Boosters.

Concert Band auditions will take place on Tuesday, November 9 from 4-7 PM in the music wing. Students will receive audition music this week and will need to sign up for a ten minute audition time for that night. We will be bringing in outside auditioners, so it will be very important that everyone audition on that day to make it a fair and level playing field.

Schedule for the remainder of the week:

Wednesday, October 28
Full Band Rehearsal, 3-5 PM

Thursday, October 29
Full Band Rehearsal, 3-5 PM.

Friday, October 30
Football vs. Westerville Central (senior night)
5:30 PM: Report for rehearsal.
6:15 PM: Seniors leave to meet their parents
6:45 PM: March to the stadium
7:15 PM: Pre-game begins

State Finals begin this Saturday at Coffman. The Coffman Band
performs at 9:45 on Saturday night.

Our State Finals performance will take place on Friday, November 6.
Here is the schedule for that day:
4:00-Report for rehearsal
5:00-Food provided in the commons

A big thank-you to everyone who participated in the fund drive on Thursday! It was a very successful evening.

Uniform Information:
Please read!!! In our first use of the full uniform last Friday, many pants were not hemmed properly. It is very important that pants are hemmed uniformly, so they have the same look on the field. Please read the followinghemming instructions from Michelle Burley.
Pants should be hemmed 3” above the floor with band shoes on. Please DO NOT cut the pant in any way. Do not open the outer seam of the pant (seam with the gold stripe). You may take a rather large hem if necessary but do not cut the fabric. If a large hem is necessary, do not double the fabric, as the hem becomes too bulky; open the side seam without the gold stripe a couple of inches if necessary to make the hem lie flat. Before hemming, pluck out any tiny pieces of hem thread that may have been left by the previous wearer. Do not remove the white hem tape or black serge thread which protects the bottom edge of the pant leg from fraying. Hem with dark green thread only. Do not use safety pins, or any type of sewing adhesive (i.e., Stitch Witchery), or adhesives such as duct tape, masking tape or Elmer’s Glue! (This should be obvious, but we wouldn’t be saying it if it hadn’t happened at one time or another.)

If you have questions about hemming, please contact Diane Focht (798-0941) or Michelle Burley (889-2128).

Pants will be inspected before the game this Friday. Any student who does not have their pants hemmed properly will lose their 3rd quarter privileges.

Schedule for the remainder of the week:

Wednesday, September 16
Full Band Rehearsal, 3-5 PM.

Thursday, September 17
Full Band Rehearsal, 3-5 PM.

Friday, September 18:

WE will march the halls during 5th period on Friday!
5:00-6:15 Rehearsal (practice field)
