Jerome Winterguard - April 2010

On March 6th, Dublin Jerome Winterguard hosted an indoor colorguard and percussion event at the school.  There were 48 units that participated on the still cool, sunny day.  There were flags and costumes and all sizes and manner of drums, trash cans, and other percussion equipment.  Jerome music boosters opened a concession stand that stayed busy for hours.  The participants were eager and excited and the music was loud.  It was a great event to host and watch.

Congratulations for great scores by our Jerome winterguard.  They were the best we have ever seen!!  Thank you to all who help in the running of the show.  Thanks to Johnny Wilson for getting us going and showing us how much fun you can have on a not quite spring day.

Jerome Spring Concessions - April 2010

Spring brings buds on the trees, green grass and Spring Concessions. This is a great time to renew friendships lost after marching band was finished.  At Jerome you can watch the activities from the concession stand and keep up on the sports scores for the high school.  Games are fast moving and many families attend with the better weather.  Meet new freinds or catch up with old ones.

Please volunteer for shifts in the concession stands.  It is money that goes right to our kids for any needs their directors need. Choir, Orchestra and Band families can work as a unit and have fun hanging out together. You will love how fast the night or afternoon goes.

Buy Scrip Now for Graduation Gifts & Fund Raise for Band Camp at the Same Time!

If you plan to give gift cards to graduates in June, place your Scrip order by May 1.  (The June order will not be submitted and returned in time for graduation gifts.)  Besides getting your shopping done early, you’ll be earning funds toward your student’s band camp fees.  What a great deal!

This first trial fundraising program for band camp fees by using Scrip and Kroger is going smoothly.  Many families are taking advantage of this opportunity to reduce their cost of band camp.  If you haven’t gotten on board yet, don’t worry – there’s still time.  Just follow the instructions in the attached memo.

The Kroger program runs through April 30.  The two remaining Scrip deadlines are May 1 and June 1.  Contact your school’s Kroger/Scrip coordinator if you have any questions: Ann Weber at Scioto; Terri Bailey at Coffman; Michelle Burley at Jerome (contact info in the attached memo).
