Camp Bountiful will be the destination for the Coffman Marching Band on Sunday, August 1st. The band members will have a full week (Sunday, August 1 - Saturday, August 7, 2010) of music, marching and fun as they prepare for the 2010 marching season. The senior members of the band will head to camp on Saturday, July 31 to help prepare the camp for the week. Underclass members should plan to arrive at camp Sunday, August 1st in the early afternoon.
Band camp registration forms were due the beginning of April along with a $50.00 deposit. For the first time, Kroger cards may be used to fundraise the balance of the band camp fee ($185.00)
Plans for camp are in full swing. We are eager to hear the details of this year's competition show. We are sure it will be another amazing marching season!

The 2010 Dublin Scioto Prism Concert was performed on May 18th to a standing-room only crowd in the newly dedicated The Marina Davis Performing Arts Center. The many talents of Bagpipes, choruses and choirs filled the auditorium with sounds from senior student Alex Fiete‘s, “Not Yet” to professional Bobby Troup’s “Route 66”.
Several selections were arranged by the students themselves, combining talent and dedication, to show just how far they have come under the tutelage of the performing arts staff. Twenty-one different groups or soloists presented a little something for everyone.

The choir has enjoyed a successful performance season. On Friday, May 7 we held a "Cabaret" with guest artist Daniel Neer. Daniel is a 1985 graduate of Dublin High School who has compiled an impressive performance resume. He now performs both nationally and internationally. Daniel performed along with 16 other Coffman students and two Karrer Middle School students. The evening included dinner provided by Moretti's, Jersey Mike's and BW 3's. Included are pictures from the evenings event.
On Friday, May 21 the choirs will travel to the Cedar Point Music Festival and then on Monday, May 24 we will celebrate our Concert Season by recognizing Sr.'s and outstanding music students in each choir. The program will begin at 7:00 pm in the PAC.

As was previously announced, the Nominating Committee has been working diligently to secure the support from our members to represent Dublin Music Boosters for the 2010-2011 school year. The elections will be held at our next monthly meeting, May 24th at 7:30pm and will be held at Scioto High School. All members are invited to attend.
The following names have been recommended by the Nominating Committee:
Coffman music students will be treated to a unique opportunity May 3-7th as we welcome our artist in residence, 1985 Coffman graduate, Daniel Neer. Originally a trumpet player ( band members take note! ), Daniel was turned on to singing and performing by our own Miss Cyndi Brewer, and went on to train at O.S.U., University of Michigan, and the Royal Academy of Music, London, England.
