The Dublin Music Boosters is an organization whose mission is to support and promote the music programs in all grades in all Dublin City Schools. Anyone who shares this mission is welcome to be a part of the Dublin Music Boosters. This directory is intended for the private use of Dublin Coffman, Dublin Jerome and Dublin Scioto marching band students, staff, and parents and is NOT intended for public distribution or use.
How to Get Involved
Come to Monthly DMB Meetings held the 4th Monday Monthly at alternating area high schools.
Any Parent/Guardian who has students that participate in one or more of the Dublin City School’s Music Programs should plan to attend this meeting. To Volunteer to be a member of ANY of our Committees, please indicate your interest of participation in the appropriate area on this form; Print The “DMB Registration & Volunteer Form” and bring this form with you to the meeting.
In 1947, there was a small group in Dublin known as the Dublin Band Parents Association. After a few years it became evident that the group should expand to encompass the Choir and eventually the Orchestra as well. In the early fifties the name was changed to the Dublin Music Boosters to reflect that we were more than just band boosters. Over the next several years the Junior High musical groups also became involved.
Today the Dublin Music Boosters supports music education in all seventeen buildings of the Dublin City Schools. In the fifties, it was a “Leave it to Beaver” world where June Cleaver stayed home all day and Ward had plenty of time after work to spend with Wally and the Beaver. It seems there was plenty of time to help the Music Boosters.
Today we are all so busy that it’s sometimes is hard to find time to help with worthwhile programs. In the fifties when we had only one high school, concessions was chaired by five couples, that’s ten people. Today with three high schools and many more events, concessions are chaired by two people.
With the opening of Jerome High School, we have even more committee chairs and volunteer openings. While some of our committees do revolve around marching band, others support the general program like the Schottenstein Center and Concessions committees. It would be a wonderful thing if we could find parents from band, choir and orchestra to take on the challenges of these committees. It would be even better if we could identify those people this year so that they could work with the present chairs this year or next to “learn the ropes”.
With over fifty years of experience, Dublin Music Boosters works pretty smoothly but there is always room for improvement. Why not be one of the individuals who helps to improve the things we do, change the policies and make the new traditions?
If you think that you may be interested in becoming involved as a volunteer, please contact our volunteer chair person listed on the organization chart or the committee chairperson to discuss the possibilities. Thank you.
The goal of this website is to increase and speed the flow of information about not only the Dublin Music Boosters Organization but also about the Dublin City Schools Music Programs and Projects. The website committee will continue to pursue the latest technologies to meet the INFORMATIONAL NEEDS of ALL, as is stated in our Website Mission Statement.
