The team will begin working on the 3rd set on Monday, Sept. 6 (Labor Day) at 10:00 a.m.  They will need a lot of help from non-sewing people to get the new flags cut out and pinned.  The production team WILL NOT be meeting tonight, or Saturday, as we are waiting for approval on the prototype flag and need to order the material.  Please come and help on Monday if you are available!

1. Please instruct students to inspect their uniforms and make notes of stains or damage.  Please instruct these students to bring a note to one of the chairpersons when the uniform room is open for business on Thursdays from 2:30pm to 3:00pm.
2. Students can purchase any additional items they may need on Thursdays from 2:30pm to 3:00pm in the uniform room.  They do NOT need to bring payment.  We will be keeping track of purchases and assessing a bill at the end of the year.
3. Many of the crossbelt jackets we issued were missing buttons.  We instructed the students to take the jackets and they could pick up buttons at a later date.  Please inform the students they can pick up these buttons when the uniform room is open for business on Thursdays from 2:30pm to 3:00pm.

STUDENT HANDBOOK FORMS
The band handbook forms were due yesterday (Thursday). This is a graded item – however, students may turn it in today or Sunday and still receive 9 out of 10 points.

MAX AND ERMA’S FUNDRAISER
Next week on Wednesday, September 8th, and Thursday, September 9th, we will be having our annual fundraiser at Max and Erma’s. Simply present the attached coupon to your server when ordering, and 20% of your total bill will be donated to the Coffman Marching Band! The coupon is good on dine-in as well as carry-out orders. COMMUNITY CONCERT INFO
Our first community concert of the year will be Friday, September 17th, at the Coffman Park Pavilion (located next to the Dublin Rec Center). If you would like dinner provided by City Barbeque at the community concert, please fill out the attached flier and return it by September 8th to either Mrs. Snide or Mrs. Ballard (contact info on form).

POST-GAME PROCEDURES
First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone for their cooperation last Friday night with the parking situation after the game. Everything went extremely smooth, and we hope everyone will continue to leave the bus lanes open. We greatly appreciate your awareness and concern for all of our students’ safety.

We would also like to ask that everyone please try to pick up your students within 25 minutes of our return from an away game or competition. In addition to return times being posted to the new CoffmanBand Twitter account, students are also encouraged to call home from the bus, or at the very least call home when we arrive back at school. Any student who is not involved with loading crew or an officer/representative is free to leave as soon as we arrive.

HEMMING THE CROSSBELT UNIFORM PANTS
The Crossbelt uniform pants need to be hemmed using a TEMPORARY HEM. NO MATERIAL SHOULD BE CUT OR REMOVED FROM THE PANTS. Please refer to the information passed out to you at uniform issue for further details.

We have contacted EJ Alterations in downtown Dublin about hemming the uniform pants. They have worked on band uniforms before, and since sewing is a dying art, we thought we would provide their contact info in case you need assistance. They charge $12 for a temporary hem (the type needed on the crossbelt uniform pants).

STUDENT PICK UP AFTER GAMES/CONTESTS

Please do not park in the area outside the band room (from the entrance all the way down to door #2) where the buses will be following any away game or competition. This is not only a parking issue, but also a safety issue for the kids as they get off of the buses. If you are picking up your student following a game or contest, please park either on the opposite side of the “island” from the initial driveway, or park in the student parking lot. We will have 2 parents helping with traffic concerns in this area following games/competitions. Please do all you can to help make sure our students are safe!

FRESHMAN SCHEDULE WALK-THROUGH

Tomorrow (Thursday) after practice, we will have a group of upperclassmen that will be walking the freshmen around the building to help them find their classes before Monday. This is a great chance for the freshmen band students to learn their way around the school. If your freshman is interested, please make sure that they bring their schedule with them to practice tomorrow. Plan on picking them up around 6:30.

For schedule pick-up, they will be having their picture taken, receiving their schedule, and they also need to bring with them the packet that they received in the mail. If your child is unable to attend schedule pick-up at this time, or if you have any other questions, please call the DCHS guidance department.

BAND CAMP LOST AND FOUND
We have quite a collection of lost-and-found items from band camp, including medications (which can be picked up from Mrs. Reeves), clothes, towels, etc. This can all be found in the practice room area. Please have your students check here if they are missing anything from camp.

FUND DRIVE DATE CHANGE REMINDER
Just a quick reminder that the Music Booster Fund Drive will be TUESDAY, AUGUST 31st. This is a change from printed schedule that was passed out with the band camp packet this past spring.

REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE
If a student is absent from a rehearsal, please make sure that they bring a note upon return, explaining the reason for the absence. Please remember that work, drivers ed, routine doctors appointments, etc., are NOT considered excused absences. It is imperative that every student attend every rehearsal for the betterment of the group.
